Creating Giant Puppets from trash/recycled material allows participants to focus on composition, the creative process and the interdependency found in all systems from ecology to artistry. People work in teams to quickly create a giant, 10-16 feet tall, puppet that is made from available recycled material. The building process is a challenge, there are no blueprints. This compels the participants to find original, innovative solutions for the problems of making trash take on a human form and engineering a product that will hold together. Each puppet is unique and quickly develops its own quirky persona. The process of teamwork on such a complex and imaginative project enhances communication, compromise, social skills and laughter |
